The city of seven hills, the birthplace of fado, a maze of narrow streets and the dark ages back that day, and now more than ever, the capital of Eastern Europe is rapidly becoming one of the most cosmopolitan. Appreciated for its perfect blend of tradition and modernity, Lisbon is like no other place on earth. Alfama, in the Parque das Nações, in the historic district and the new and thriving, Lisbon is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.
The oldest part of the city is Alfama, which has many tourist attractions. A pleasant stroll through the old tram system in this part of the city, imbued with old world charm is an experience of a lifetime. Castle St. – George, who was conquered by the Moors in 1143, is a must on the itinerary for history buffs. This area of the city, with its narrow cobbled streets and traditional architecture, has a unique and warm atmosphere. Those who visit Portugal, undoubtedly will notice and appreciate the hospitality of the Portuguese people, which in itself is an attraction of the city.
The Bairro Alto is one of the city with great nightlife. Here you will find many restaurants, bars and nightclubs such as the popular platform. The downtown Baixa is traditionally a commercial area, where a number of stores can be found, including tourist gifts shops. The extension of the Baixa, Avenida da Liberdade, reflects the tradition, with many of the best international brands represented on this avenue charismatic.
Near the river Tagus, there are a variety of monuments and recreation areas. The Belém Tower is the place of departure of many expeditions in search of new worlds within the ages 14 and 15. The Mosteiro dos Jeronimos or Descobrimentos Padrão dos are just three examples of beautiful places, all worth a visit. Nearby is the area of the Dock, which is ideal for a stroll in the neighborhood, perhaps to end one of the great restaurants of the region, Secção de Canoagem.

The center of the city, besides being the main business and shopping district, also contains many attractions and shops. Places like the Atrium Saldanha is perfect if you want to buy a souvenir of this great city.
Lisbon also has a subway system that can take you anywhere in minutes. Therefore, Saldanha and Campo Pequeno, can reach any other part of the city.
